This may be a slightly premature post but I don't like what has been happening the last 2 days...
Last night I spent 1.5 hours picking out black, half black and dry dead mealworms. This morning I have spent another 1 hour doing the same, just 12 hours later! I estimate I have picked out 1,000 dead mealworms in 24 hours.
Tray 2 from the original batch seems to be the most effected and the worms in that tray are moving around really slowly, as if they have been poisoned.
The other trays are suffering the same however they are moving around and eating like their lively usual selves.
Every hour it seems like there are new mealworms with the blackness absorbing their bodies. It appears to start at head or tail before totally consuming their usually light brown colour.
The smell given off by the Hive is not great, especially in a small studio flat. Is this smell normal?
Diet provided to the over the last week includes:
Purple spouting broccoli
Nuts - almonds, macadamia, walnuts
Having I unknowingly poisoned them??
