marcofoo I released yesterday alpha version 2.01 with new fan control. No different level of humidity for each layer, but individual fan control in CO2 hygiene. Current setup is run every 9 minutes fan for 30seconds. This is called CO2 hygiene. I found on several mealworms websites, that optimal humidity for growing is 60-75%.
9min / 30sec is ok for biggest mealworms, but I think not for worm babies, ... or small worms. So I rewritten fan control. Layer with babies run fan every 22 min for 18 sec, etc.. This code is experimental 🙂 I need to found correct number 🙂 But today humidity in layer 3,4,5 is much better than yesterday .. I like it! It's around 60% whole day ... http://home.validator.sk:1080
Hive have RTC (realtime clock) circuit. It's not set to current day, but it doesn't matter.. Counting seconds and it's connected to small backup battery.. So Hive know about time of harvesting for each layer. When green led goes on - means harvest this layer (oldest mealworms), you have to clean empty layer and move beetle tray from previous to this empty layer.. And that's it.
See my yesterday photo in FB Livin farms Hive™ Community (/groups/1748506165420439/). I put there photo with all layer leds on and each with different color 🙂 When you remove layer with beetle tray (there is a switch) ... hive describes with LED color each layer.. This is already implemented in 2.0x alpha version
- White - expected layer with beetle tray here ...
- Green - oldest mealworms ... 0-18 days to harvest
- Purple - middle size mealworms ... 18-36 days to harvest
- Yellow - small mealworms ... 36-54 days to harvest
- Cyan - mealworms babies ... 54-72 days to harvest
- and Red - several beetle tray switches detected or broken switch
So you can anytime check arrangement of layers.
